The Faculty of Administration and National Security of the Jacob of Paradise University in Gorzów Wielkopolski, as one of the co-organizers, invites to the expert seminar “(In)Equality and (Non)Discrimination in Europe: a multifaceted perspective” that is going to be held at the University of Bari Aldo Moro in Bari (Italy) on September 17th 2018.

The aim of the panel discussion is to put the concepts of (in)equality and (non)discrimination into the different analytical perspectives and discuss critically how discrimination is maintained in various social practices, including law, politics and the media. The event is conceived as multidisciplinary in that it takes various methodological perspectives on the concepts in question through philosophical, legal, economic and discourse analysis.

The questions to be discussed include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Is it possible to build up an equal and non-discriminating society?

- Can law be non-discriminating?

- What are legal and linguistic mechanisms that support or, on the contrary, fight discrimination?

- Can power be practised without practising discrimination?
